One beautiful and so utterly stylish #JessDress wedding story. Nikeisha & Oliver were so kind to share their love story with us so that we have an honor to tell it to you!
“When it came time to start planning the wedding, we agreed from the start that we just wanted a super fun, laid back wedding, nothing too formal. We also decided that we were going to plan and coordinate it ourselves. The first and biggest decision was the dress of course. I had no idea what I wanted, and to be honest, if you ask anyone who knows me, they were VERY surprised to hear that it was a really quick and easy process finding my dress. I decided to make an appointment with a local store to try on a few dresses. It was early days and I had no intention of making a decision. I had selected a few different designs to try on, one of which being the JESS dress. The JESS dress was literally the first wedding gown I tried on and I fell in love straight away. I tried on a few other designs after that, but I kept coming back to the Jess dress.
Now that the dress was sorted, there were 3 things we knew we wanted to get right. The music, the drinks and the food. Everything else, we would just take our time finding and not let it get too overwhelming for us. We actually had a lot of fun planning our wedding together, and I would recommend it to anyone who’s thinking about it. It really was our dream wedding, and because we had planned the entire day, every little detail was completely us. I think that made it extra special. We had our closest friends stay over the night before, and they all chipped in to help us get the venue set up. From taking delivery of the furniture, to gluing the ribbon on the wedding favours - the famous homemade chilli Jam made by Olly’s mum (yum), and help with last minute vows and speeches (both guilty). We even had all our friends stay over in glamping tents so the party didn’t have to end.
It really was the best day of our lives and we’re so grateful we got to share it with our closest family and friends.
Olly and I met when we were 15, we dated for about a year before stupidly breaking up, even though neither of us really wanted to...
It’s crazy to think how much we loved each other back then, even though we were still just kids.
We never got over each other but unfortunately gap years and job offers took us to opposite sides of the world straight after school. We kept in touch though, and finally, in 2013, we were both in the same place at the same time… and here we are, almost 9 years later. FINALLY married to the man of my dreams.
