The gown itself
At WONÁ New York, gowns run from $3,000 to $11,000. Every gown is made to your measurements in our European ateliers, across the WONÁ Concept, WONA Couture, Eva Lendel and Rebel collections. Where a gown falls in that range comes down to three things:
Fabric. Mikado silk, dense couture lace and hand-beading cost more than a clean crepe or a simple satin.
Construction. A corseted, boned bodice with sculptural volume takes far more hours to build than an unlined slip — the couture construction is much of what you’re paying for.
Customization. Changes to necklines, sleeves, closures and detachable elements through our Custom Gown Service are part of the process, and more extensive changes add to the cost.
The extras brides forget
The gown is the largest line, but a realistic New York bridal budget includes a few more:
Alterations. Nearly every made-to-order gown is altered for a precise final fit. Our in-house seamstress handles this in the showroom, typically across two to three fittings, and it is charged separately from the gown.
The appointment fee. Weekday appointments are free. Weekend appointments carry a $100 booking fee — which is applied to your purchase if you buy, so it isn’t a true add-on for most brides.
Accessories and tax. A veil or other accessories, and New York sales tax, both belong in the budget.
