The former NFL star Andre Levrone and the Olympic gold medalist Sydney McLaughlin have officially tied the knot!
These two certainly went the distance — for each other. Sydney McLaughlin, who sprinted her way to two gold medals and a new world record at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, said “I do” to her longtime love, former NFL player Andre Levrone Jr.
The couple, who have been going strong since 2020, held their nuptials at Early Mountain Vineyards in Madison, Va. “We’ve been waiting for this day for a very long time, so just excited that it’s finally here and we can say we’re married,” McLaughlin.
Levrone popped the question to McLaughlin at the Four Seasons Resort in Scottsdale, Ariz., in August 2021. Levrone Jr., 26 — who spent two years playing for the Panthers, Jaguars and Ravens — got down on one knee in an outdoor setting surrounded by bouquets of flowers and candles. McLaughlin and Levrone Jr. knew early into their relationship that they were each other’s perfect match: she was sure he was the one after just a few days, and by date three, the former football player saw their future together.
The newlyweds had a pre-wedding photo shoot in April at Greystone Mansion and Gardens, California. The bride-to-be has chosen a chic mini-length wedding dress designed by WONÁ Concept together with the Ukrainian brand the COAT by Katya Silchenko. An absolutely classy and radiant dress with off-shoulder neckline and a gorgeous bow on the back made the bride look truly impressive! Sydney paired the dress with an elegant white hat with flower appliques and exquisite shoes by Jimmy Choo.
Now, the couple plans to enjoy married life together and find ways to continue to support each other.
“Ultimately, just getting to wake up next to your best friend and tackle whatever challenges the day has is so exciting,” said McLaughlin.
“I have a vision in life, she has a vision in life, and we just kind of merged our visions,” Levrone Jr. added. “And being able to just model that the two of us are partners and what I like to call ‘co-laborers’ in life. And in this season of life, me primarily supporting her and her dream and her calling, is fun for me. And just knowing how supportive she is of me as well and in the long term.”
